August 2018 Update

HW (Heaviest Weight): 511 lbs

SW (Surgery Weight): 466 lbs

CW (Current Weight): 389 lbs

That was a couple week's ago at my surgeon's office in NYC. Here in Ohio, my kitchen scale has me hovering in the mid-370s this week. Getting more fluids has helped a lot with weight loss. The number isn't a huge concern for me, though it is related to a few exciting moments recently:

  • Most of my 3XL shirts are fitting pretty well. Not as comfortable as I'd like, but I'm very close.
  • I dug up a pair of khaki shorts with a 58" waist. They fit. I can't remember the last time I wore them. Of course, they don't have cargo pockets, so it's unlikely that I'll be wearing them on the regular. They're also kinda cut short, like fat guys can't be taller or something.
  • While in Manhattan, I sat on one of those "We hate homeless people" benches with the tall wooden blocks between seats. Last time I was in town, I couldn't get my posterior into the space. This time, I fit right in. I could feel the sides on my hips, but it wasn't painful.

I really dig how things are going physically. Mentally, well, I'm pretty blah. Truthfully, I have a great time with my ladyfriend, and feel my best with her. While she's at work all day, however, I'm just a lump. I've spent a few days working from bed as getting up didn't feel worth it.

Why get up when all you're going to do is: take meds and vitamins, drink a protein shake, look at support tickets, shake your first at business decisions you have no say in, rinse, and repeat if necessary?

Needless to say, it's time for help. I haven't been to therapy since Autumn, and we're approaching that being a year ago. I've begun the quest for a therapist in my new home, and if I can muster the spoons, I'll make an appointment or two soon.

Keep me accountable, folks. Please? :)

That's really all I have for now. I'm going back to putting off buying new shorts and catching up on this season of Chikara.
