This theme strikes me. Thoughts?
Update: Think I’ll stick with this new one for now. Might have to mess with the colors and try to add my old banner back in, but this seems workable.

So things look a little different around here. I’ve added a Photo page, which pulls from my Facebook. If you want my Flickr photos, there’s a link on the right. My last three Tweets show up over there as well.
I’ve also dropped the site to a very simple template for the time being. It’s all a matter of finding the right one. I want to go back to three columns, but this should keep things simple and readable for now.
If only Helvetica was licensed for the web . . .
Over at Livejournal, I’ve found that dropping my account to Basic level removes the big stinking ad from the top. Looks a lot nicer now, and I didn’t lose any functionality I had previously. Thanks for the tip Amy!
I want to figure out if I can completely abandon categories for tags. I’m surprised that WordPress hasn’t moved that way yet. They work in a similar fashion, except you can’t render a page of exploded posts from a tag link. Maybe someday.
I also need to figure out what I want to do with the main page. That’s where I’d just link to crap. I do most of that on Facebook now, so the main site has become rather useless. I’m quite open to suggetions, and our host supports all the latest tech, including Rails.
Work is over in 15 minutes. Then the weekend begins. We’ll be doing some shopping tomorrow. Hooray
This is me testing this pinging service deal for Facebook. Do not be alarmed. This is merely another attempt to coax myself into blogging more often. For reals.
I’m starting to enjoy this Flock thing, and it’s only been a couple minutes. It keeps all my social stuff in one place, and allows me to blog stuff real easily.
It may even help me blog more.
My only gripe thus far is that it’s based on FireFox 2. I must go digging for one with a FireFox 3 backend.
TaTa for now.

Yeah, I realize it’s been a while. I know I haven’t posted in ages. I understand that you’re all starving for an update.
Okay, two out of three ain’t bad.
I’ll fill the faithful in on my life sooner than later. For now, enjoy the fact that some intrepid coders have made it easier for me to post and read the site from my iPhone.
If you visit from an iPhone or an iPod Touch, you’ll see a nicely formatted page that is easy to read. This doesn’t apply to LiveJournal just yet, but if Six-Apart gives a shit about that community, the tools will be there sooner than later.
Have fun with reading, mobile device users. I promise to get blogging hardcore from this point forward.
Had a nasty fight with the blog last night. Attempted to one-clicky upgrade to WordPress 2.2. Didn’t work. Had to roll back to January 2006 and then rebuild the directories. Not too bad, I guess. It’s working now. I need to find a nifty new widgetized layout for this. Any suggestions??
More about the “exciting” life of Tom coming later.
The fine folks at Dreamhost, who have been hosting this site for over a year now, have elected to become carbon neutral.
So they’re using Debian Linux on all their servers, blog and are now saving the planet. Are they like the hippie antithesis of GoDaddy? I submit that they are.
Well, for me at least.
Hello, hipsters, basement dwellers, social rejects and friends of Amy. Welcome to Tom’s insane world!
I’ve elected to have all my WordPress posts end up on LiveJournal so you can get a glimpse into the mind of the man whom Amy has told all of you so much about.
I promise not to write such awful sentances any longer. Actually, I make such promise as I tend to blog at all hours of the morning as evidenced by this post and this social experiment.
Feel free to comment here or on the WordPress site. I should see it either way. Thanks again to Amy for bringing me to the LJ community and giving me a new set of eyes to bounce my wacky thoughts off of.
I suggest you all wear eye protection.
PS: Amy thinks I’m cuddly
EDIT: The oldstuff referred to below is now on this site. The new WordPress 2.0 has a great RSS import feature, and I was able to salvage that. Now, if I could only figure out how to dig up my old Nucleus blog (think, think, think).
Yeah, I’ve finally changed everything. I should settle here and merely change the theme when I feel like it. That’s just me, I guess.
Old stuff is still at the old place. Yeah, the whopping two posts. I might upload a text file with the really old stuff if you’re bored. I’ll also create a link area for all my old blogs that are still up and running. Don’t know when though.
So, enjoy the new place as I start to redecorate. Also check out Charlie and Amanda’s blogs. They should start updating soon, as will I.
